At the moment, I have too many time-intensive assignments due this week, and I don't feel like messing with them. 3 of the 4 are coding-based and 2 of them are due tomorrow, but enough on that. This is a distraction. :3
A funny little thing: I have practically no sense of smell the majority of the time. There was one time when I decided that macaroni and cheese should have cinnamon added to it: I kept adding more and more, even after my housemate (in another room) said that she could smell the cinnamon. A couple minutes later, the scent was finally strong enough to get through to me. It's pretty bad.
There are some scents that do manage to get to me relatively quickly, though. Sadly, the list includes cigarette smoke, but more importantly, there are specialty coffees that just smell wonderful. At the moment, I have a "Chocolate Truffle" coffee. It is glorious. I am ill, my nose is stuffed, my sense of smell isn't that strong on a good day, but this stuff is still wonderful to just breathe. It tastes delicious, too, but I've spent a decent portion of time just breathing the smell and warmth in from my cup. I love this stuff so much.
Another set of fun times: as mentioned, I have been ill this week. I swear, the symptoms seemed to change each day, but Wednesday was the worst. I had a bit of an emotional meltdown in the morning, then there was a career fair going on for the rest of the day. The career fair actually went pretty well--there are several companies that I liked and could feel confident in applying to, but sometime after the fair, my voice decided to go on strike. I would think that it's not really such a strange thing for a voice to get worn out, but this is the first time my voice had ever stopped. I couldn't talk very well for somewhere around 36 hours. That was frustrating, yet somewhat entertaining--I may have played around with trying to figure out what pitches were temporarily impossible for me to get. It really showed just how used I am to talking to myself, too. I never would have noticed that I was talking to myself if my voice were actually cooperating enough to carry the sound.
So, with all of this said... how have the lives of everyone else been going? Any random chatter to share?
